These images might all look the same, but I assure you, they are not. It is only that the frame of reference has not changed.

On a flight back to Europe from a visit to the U.S., I was lucky enough to be graced with clear weather at cruising altitudes and the Orion constellation as my companion through the night. It might be hard to see, but it's there, with the Belt of three stars, his shoulders and legs and even his sword. A few of the lights aren't stars but simply internal reflections of the wingtip lights from the multiple panes of the window. When you're up this high, the night sky is clearer than you will ever experience on the ground and the way the stars twinkle makes you feel like you really could see "attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion."
