the blog

This is a blog about my postdoc experience in Norway. I regularly post about various topics, life in Norway, and analysis of things both grand and mundane. To learn about how this blog got its name, read the origin post.

The writer

Born and raised in the Great Lakes state of Michigan, I received my PhD in materials science and engineering from Georgia Tech, but I have the characteristically unbridled enthusiasm for my alma mater, the University of Michigan, where I also studied materials science and engineering as an undergraduate. I am now a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute For Energy Technology in Norway.

Stylizing "postdocpartum"

There are a few ways to stylize "PostdocPartum" that I am still testing. However, in the era of fluid language for social media hashtags, flexibility is imperative, even at the price of comprehension. Here are a few possibilities with their advantages and disadvantages:

  • postdocpartum: lowercase is the most cohesive with ordinary text and the closest to its root word but can be difficult to parse for the unfamiliar reader.
  • postdocPartum: camelcase improves readability without losing continuity with the preceding text.
  • Postdocpartum: title case feels like an inferior version of camelcase.
  • PostdocPartum: upperCamelCase has the best readability but can feel clunky and needlessly official.
